The following astronomical events can be observed from Kokino

The following astronomical events can be observed from Kokino during the morning hours through the year:

   March 20 or 21: The spring equinox sunrise aligns with an astronomical marker. It is visible from the western platform (C) and northern platform (D) about 15 and 90 minutes after the sun rises at sea level, respectively.

   May 14 or 15: The sun aligns with the ritual (a.k.a. mutual) marker and illuminates on of the stone thrones. Viewed from the thrones on Platform A. The sun aligns with the marker approximately one hour after sunrise at sea level.

   June 21 or 22: The summer solstice sunrise aligns with an astronomical marker. Viewed from the western platform (Platform C). The sun aligns with the marker approximately one hour after sunrise at sea level.

   July 31: The sun aligns with the ritual (a.k.a. mutual) marker and illuminates on of the stone thrones. Viewed from the thrones on Platform A. The sun aligns with the marker approximately one hour after sunrise at sea level.

   September 23: The autumn equinox sunrise aligns with an astronomical marker. Viewed from the western platform (Platform C) and northern platform (D) about 15 minutes and 90 minutes after the sun rises at sea level, respectively.

   December 21 or 22: The winter solstice sunrise aligns with an astronomical marker. Viewed from the western platform (Platform C), about 10 minutes after sunrise at sea level.
